3rd Dec 2014

On Monday 17th November we celebrated our annual Anti Bullying Week.  There were a wide range of activities and events planned to help us reinforce our anti-bullying stance and encourage and give our pupils opportunities to discuss bullying issues and how to deal with them.  The week of activities allowed us to send a clear message that any form of bullying is neither acceptable nor inevitable in a school community.

Some of the activities included:

  • A special assembly performed by P5B that explain to pupils what bullying is and what to do if they think they are being bullied or are worried that someone else is being bullies
  • The launch of a new “Survival Guide” to help pupils understand where to go if they have a worry or concern
  • An E- safety presentation by Police Officers Mark and Gary which really helped the children understand the importance of staying safe online
  • Poster and poetry competitions – children were invited to produce a poem or poster that shows that as a school community we stand together against bullying.  In each class, two winners were chosen and presented with the prize of a book
  • An online safety presentation for all our parents
  • A “Blue Day” – on Friday 21st November
    • pupils were asked to wear something blue to school to mark Anti Bullying week

A “big thank” you to all the parents/ guardians who supported our work during this important week.
