Junior Reception
Term 1
- Our theme is ‘In the woods.’ We will be going for a walk to the castle grounds to collect items for play and art.
- All the children are settling very well into school and enjoy their outdoor play in this lovely autumn weather!
Term 2
- Our topic this term has been ‘Bbrrrr!’ The children have been busy finding out about the people and animals that live in places that are very cold. They have also been investigating the properties of ice, and the best ways to dissolve it. Our class had to problem solve and think of ways they could rescue plastic people from the ice blocks.
- We were very excited when we discovered real snow in our playground! We had great fun playing in it! After discussion, we decided to help the little birds by making some bird food for them. It was very squishy missing all the ingredients together, and also a bit smelly!
- JR have also been talking about Chinese New Year and to help celebrate it, we have been making our own dancing dragons, and eating noodles for our snack!
