What a busy week we had in P1 this week!
Our class topic is ‘My Beautiful Body.’
On Monday we had a visit from Nurse O’Loan. She told us what it is like to work in the hospital. She showed us how to use a stethoscope and a pen light that she uses to check her patient’s eyes. P1 had lots of questions ready for Nurse O’Loan and she took the time to answer each and every one of them.
P1 also have been learning about their senses. This week they had to use their sense of taste to guess the flavour of the crisps. When all the tasting had been done they then made a pictograph of their favourite flavours.
Ella shared some special news with us this week about her Beautiful Body. She told all the boys and girls what it is like to be Diabetic. She brought in her special doll who has a sensor and pod just like Ella. She also let us pass around Tyler the Type-1 T-rex about whom we read a story because he is diabetic just like Ella. Thank you for sharing your special story Ella!
Our new number this week was number 8. The boys and girls worked hard trying to make sets up to 8 and even had fun making different sets using ICT.
On Thursday we had Shared Education. Our friends from Antrim Primary school visited for a play session. The cold didn’t stop P1 from having fun!
