A busy week in P2A!

We have had a very busy week in P2A! On Monday, we explored our new spellings and tricky words for the week. We had lots of messy fun using shaving foam to write the words, sound them out and to practise our letter formation! Our World Around Us topic this term is ‘Let’s take a trip!’ We have been exploring the different types of transport on the road, in the sea and in the sky. This week we looked at Space and the Solar System. We learned all about astronauts and watched a live stream of the International Space Station. We were so excited to see the live view of Earth from space. We had lots of fun in the play room making our own rocket junk art. On Wednesday we used CoPilot to generate an AI image of Space! At Literacy time, we used our tricky words and a word bank to build sentences about what we could see in the animation. We have been working hard on our number work in P2A. This week, we worked in pairs and used cubes and our whiteboards to experiment and find all the different ways to make the number ten. We have also been very busy at task time, learning to make totals up to 10p. We developed our ICT skills while playing ‘Toyshop’ and ‘Piggy Bank’ on ‘Topmarks’ and we played in the shop corner to practise using a variety of coins to make totals and to improve our coin recognition. In PE, we have been doing gymnastics! This week in the hall, we focused on balance and spatial awareness. We listened very carefully to the instructions and worked in teams to do wall stands, balance on the bench and to cartwheel in to hoops! We have also been doing something very special for our assembly next week. Stay tuned to find out what we’ve been working on!
