A busy week in P5C

We have had a very busy week in P5C. This week sees the beginning of Lent. In our Grow in Love lesson, we learnt about the story of the prodigal son with our student teacher, Miss Creaney. We then added Lenten Promises to our ‘Tree of Forgiveness’ in the sacred space in the classroom. To celebrate World Book Day on the 6th March, we made our own book cover designs and brought in props from our favourite books. We had lots of fun getting our classmates to guess our favourite book name. We have been very busy rehearsing songs, poems, dancing and the story of St Patrick for Primary 5’s assembly next week. The children can’t wait to showcase their talents and have been making shamrocks to decorate the classroom and school in preparation for their assembly. This week we have also been linking our World Around Us Topic of Ancient Egypt to our Literacy lessons by writing newspaper articles about Hussein, the young water boy who uncovered a stone leading to the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb in 1922. Watch out for some future journalists!
