On Friday 28th March, 4 members of last year’s Eco Team travelled to Greenmount to attend an awards presentation celebrating a category win in the 2023-2024 Really Rubbish Scarecrow competition run by Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council. Baggy Betty won the Most Eco-Friendly entry. On the day, Zoey, Holly, Eimear and Ruairi met the Mayor of Antrim & Newtownabbey, Neil Kelly. They were taught how to plant pine trees in the Horticulture Department, and got to take theirs back to school. They have to tend it for 1 year, before planting it out. They also got to have fun in the wonderful maze in Greenmount grounds. A great day was had by all! Well done to last year’s Eco Team, and Mrs O’Donnell who together created Baggy Betty, our Really Rubbish entry.
