Primary 5B have been exploring measurement using both standard and non-standard units. We had lots of fun using unusual items from home to measure objects, before moving on to measure different things around the classroom – including each other! After experimenting with non-standard units, we turned our focus to standard units of measure using metre sticks. First, we estimated the length and then checked how accurate our guesses were by measuring carefully. We learned that using standard units makes our measurements much more accurate.
