On 3rd April, our Pupil Council met with Fiona Nelson, RAISE Locality Co-ordinator for Newtownabbey, Carrickfergus and Antrim. The RAISE Programme is a community based approach in localities across Northern Ireland to support the Department of Education’s vision that ‘every child is happy, learning and succeeding.’ It aims to raise achievement for all children. Fiona is currently consulting with schools and community groups across Antrim to build a strategic plan which will ultimately result in a range of initiatives to improve outcomes for children and young people in the local area. We are delighted that Fiona accepted our invitation to consult with our Pupil Council, who, in preparation for Fiona’s visit, led class consultations to gather the views of their peers. Our Pupil Council are truly shaping the future!
