On Friday 14th March our Primary 5 year group presented the St Patrick’s Day Green Assembly! This was a really lively, entertaining and enjoyable presentation which showcased all our wonderful talents! Songs such as; Rattlin’ Bog, Hail Glorious St Patrick and 40 Shades of Green were sung with confidence and accompanied by St Patrick playing his own bodhran! P5 also put their best foot forward with 2 beautiful dances, a set dance to the Dubliners “Rocky Road to Dublin” and a lyrical dance to the tune of “The Lonesome Boatman.” The story of St Patrick and his life journey were told through drama, poetry and Prayers of the Faithful. We were even treated to some excellent comedy from 4 comedians! As this week is “Seachtain na Gaeilge” we were delighted that Miss Creaney from St Mary’s University College Belfast was able to teach P5C a poem in Irish as well as include our Tin Whistle afterschool’s club and some traditional Irish Dancing! Our parents and family all spoke of how wonderful the children were and we couldn’t be more proud! The assembly finished with an Irish blessing and the children wishing everyone “Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona duit!” (Happy St Patrick’s Day!)
