P6B Assembly – Raising Awareness of Diabetes

Today, Primary 6B delivered a wonderful class assembly, raising awareness about diabetes throughout the school. This topic is especially meaningful to the class, as Ava from P6B was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just two months ago. During the assembly, children explained what Type 1 Diabetes is, how it affects the body and the key signs and symptoms to look out for. Ava bravely shared her personal experience and spoke about how she manages her condition on a daily basis. The pupils also hosted a short Q&A session to challenge common misconceptions about diabetes. They finished with a performance of the well-loved song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”—a reminder of the importance of kindness, support and understanding for children living with diabetes. Well done, P6B, for an informative and inspiring assembly!
