Smokebusters Zoom with Cancer Focus NI This week our class took part in an engaging Smokebusters Zoom session led by Judith from Cancer Focus NI. Judith spoke to the children about the dangers of smoking and vaping, helping them understand how these habits can affect their health now and in the future. The children learned about: Addiction – how nicotine can quickly make the body dependent. Harmful chemicals – especially those found in vapes that can damage lungs and overall health. Peer pressure strategies – we role played practical ways to say “no” confidently if we ever feel pressured to try cigarettes or vapes. After the session, the children used what they had learned to create their own anti‑smoking and anti‑vaping posters, highlighting key messages about staying healthy and making positive choices. Their posters were creative, informative, and showed a fantastic understanding of the session’s themes. It was a very worthwhile workshop and we are grateful to Judith and Cancer Focus NI for supporting our learning.
