Our P5 class completed their final theme of the Roots of Empathy program this week.
They celebrated Fiadh’s overall development form the beginning to the end of the program. On the last baby visit the class were so excited and proud to see that Fiadh had learnt to WALK since her last visit!! They measured her height and discussed the developments they have observed over the nine themes. They have learned about Fiadh’s feelings which has helped them understand their own feelings and are better able to understand the feelings of others. They recognise that the first year in a baby’s life represents the biggest growth spurt in their lifespan.
Reuben made a short speech to thank Colette and Fiadh, Mae presented a photo book, Jayden presented a Wishing Tree (all the children made a wish for Fiadh), Isla presented Fiadh with her certificate, Liam gave Colette some flowers and Méabh gave a gift to Fiadh.
The boys and girls then had a few little treats and Fiadh enjoyed a bun too!
We thank Colette and baby Fiadh, Mrs Mc Laughlin and all the boys and girls in P5A who took part. They celebrated being reflective, responsible, caring and empathetic young people and were presented with their own individual certificates.
