Sustrans Big Walk & Wheel Fortnight
April 3, 2025 2025-04-05 12:11Sustrans Big Walk & Wheel Fortnight

Our Eco team led us in the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel fortnight from 24th March – 4th April, which inspires pupils to make active journeys to school, improve air quality in our community and discover how these changes benefit their world. On each day of the challenge, our pupils were encouraged to walk, scoot or cycle to school, if it was safe for them to do so.
Our Eco Team delivered an Assembly to the whole school to kick-off the initiative and encourage as many children as possible to take part. They also had responsibility for collecting the data and logging the number of journeys across the classes on the Sustrans website. Thank you for your help Eco Team.
We made a grand total of 2248 active journeys, which represents 52.16% of our school population. This was an increase from 1798 journeys last year. Mr Henry’s class were the winning class with a total of 294 journeys.
Let’s continue to make active journeys to school in the good weather ahead.
