Our Special Visit From the Nurses!
This week, our class had a very exciting visit from two nurses, who are also mummies from our school community! They kindly came in to talk to us about their jobs in the hospital and brought lots of interesting equipment for us to explore.
The children loved getting hands‑on experience with real medical tools. We learned how nurses take a temperature and how they measure blood pressure. Everyone was fascinated to see how the cuff gently squeezes the arm!
We also had the chance to learn how to make a cast and how to wrap a bandage properly. The nurses showed us the special boots and gloves used when someone has injured a bone in their hand or foot, the class really enjoyed trying these out and seeing how they protect us.
Another important lesson was learning the 7 steps of handwashing. The children practised each step carefully and now know exactly how to wash their hands just like a nurse to keep germs away.
It was a wonderful learning experience, and we are very grateful to both mums for giving up their time to visit us and share their expertise. The children had a fantastic time and learned so much about caring for others!
